About the Study

The InAdvance Study is enrolling individuals with an increased risk for cancer into a research study that collects clinical information and biological samples to help researchers learn more about cancer risk, with the goal of developing strategies that can improve prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer.

Our Purpose

The purpose of this research is to collect clinical information, specimens, and survey data from individuals at increased risk for cancer. The samples and associated clinical data will allow researchers to study factors that may improve prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer.

Who is eligible to join the InAdvance Study?

Patients with any of the following:

  • Hereditary risk for cancer
  • Precancerous lesions
  • Exposures that increase cancer risk
  • Personal cancer history

How can I join?

You can join the study by navigating to the study registration page. You may also contact the study team at InAdvanceStudy@dfci.harvard.edu or 857-215-1892.

Why should I join?

Taking part in this research study may not directly benefit you. However, the information gained from your participation is likely to generate important information which may help you and/or help future patients with cancers and individuals at high risk of developing those diseases.

What is involved?

We will ask you to have a blood draw at a routine clinical visit or a phlebotomy appointment. We may also ask to collect other types of samples including saliva, urine, stool, or biopsy or surgical tissue. We will also ask you to complete optional surveys which include questions about your family medical history, personal medical history, demographics, and other questions related to your overall health.

Our Mission

To bring state-of-the-art early detection and precision interventions to people at higher risk of developing cancer and to foster collaboration between researchers.
